While the strength of the location had to be top of the list for ResourceiT to successfully relocate & recruit, Chineham Park’s focus on wellbeing and sustainability was the real deciding factor behind their move.

Here we talk to Tory Simpson, General Manager of the highly successful technology channel marketing agency, who like many millennials in her sector is looking to make a social impact.

Community and sustainability are close to my heart. Working within a digital world I see the power of tech as a social enabler. Young people within the sector are keen to innovate for the greater good as well as progress and it’s far easier to make an impact when your part of a collective voice who share the same values and can make a statement.

Chineham helps amplify our share of noise within the marketplace, as a good fit for our culture and the right location to help achieve our growth ambitions, attracting people with the same passion and purpose.

We’ve expanded 30% year on year and hope to do the same again. The flexibility of the space here provides us with the opportunity to expand as we need to.

Attracting talent

When it comes to recruiting, we’re a small fish in a tough talent pool, often going head-to-head with the likes of Microsoft. At Chineham we can punch above our weight on the issues that concern people. Our team are over the moon with the new location and excited for the future we can make here.

We’re buying into the energy efficiency of the buildings, the electric charging points and Fraser Property’s own wellbeing and sustainability goals. It’s so much more powerful to say you’re located on a park heading towards net zero emissions by 2030 with a Fitwel – 2-star rating for its excellence in health & wellbeing.

Inspiring workplace

Collaboration is important too. As a business, the pandemic didn’t change how we work – we still love being in the office together and hanging out like a family. Ultimately, we come up with great content because of how we inspire each other in our workplace.

It’s a major selling point when clients walk in and see the people who are impacting their business working together in light, airy, modern, open-plan offices with amazing views on all three sides overlooking trees and greenery. They can see it’s a creative space to thrive in.

Meeting Place

We used to hide in our old offices but now it’s – ‘let’s have a meeting at ours!’ Or, for more informal catchups we can pop to the Exchange for a coffee. Two of our biggest wins – Tech Data and Lumen Technologies – are based at Chineham, so we have a great opportunity to network.

We’re also a big fan of socials, creating time to really engage with each other. We absolutely can’t wait to join in with all the occupier events Chineham Park has planned, particularly the wellbeing focused ones. We have our own mindfulness days and mental health first aiders, so if it’s a chance to take a break, get outside and enjoy the greenery, you can sign us up.!

We also use our get togethers for social good. I’m a trustee of St Michael’s Hospice locally and we’ve already raised £1500 this year through fundraisers. It’s important to promote community and Chineham already feels like home. The front of desk team has been brilliant, and we loved the welcome cupcakes!

At ResourceiT we’re moving ahead with new purpose and passion…so watch this space, we could be needing more!
